ENGINEERING & DRAFTING DEPARTMENT

W.F. WELDING & OVERHEAD CRANES head office is located at our 23rd Avenue facility.  W.F. currently has 5 licenses of Tekla Structures, one license of STAAD.pro, as well as one license of S-Frame / S-Steel.  W.F.'s Crane Department also uses AutoCAD for crane drawings.

W.F. WELDING & OVERHEAD CRANES utilizes 3D modeling software design packages including S-Frame/P-Frame, S-Steel, and STAAD.pro.  These programs allow us to reduce design time by checking the design with numerous load combinations from the most recent codes, and then display the results graphically or through a data report.

To compliment our structural design, we use the Tekla Structures 3D modeling package.  Connections are created using pre-programmed macros based upon standard joint details.  Tekla Structures also creates assembly and part drawings, as well as numerous reports such as cutting lists, drawing lists, material lists, and shipping bills.

W.F.'s 24th Avenue facility was designed, detailed, fabricated, and erected entirely by W.F., and the steel detailing was done using Tekla Structures.
